Contract term and extension: The initial term of the franchise is 20 years for new buildings; 15 years for conversions and transfers. There are no renewal fees. Any continuation of the hotel`s affiliation to the system is subject to the conclusion and delivery of the current form of the franchise agreement, which may deviate significantly from the previous agreement. We provide estimated franchise costs for certain countries: Obligations and restrictions: Franchisees do not have to personally participate in the direct operation of the facility, although the franchisor recommends it. If franchisees do not personally manage the hotel, they must hire a management company or a single manager with extensive training and experience in the general management of similar accommodation establishments to manage the establishment. The manager must successfully complete the training program. Franchisees may not offer goods or services in the facility that the franchisor does not authorize.
Franchisees must operate the hotel in strict compliance with the standards set by the franchisor in the franchise agreement, manual or otherwise. Franchisees may only use the company`s premises for the operation of a chain plant. When dealing with a Wyndham Hotel Group franchise, you`re not alone. Whether it`s your first property or your newest, you`ll get the right support at the right time. Area granted: The franchise is intended for the development and operation of a single-chain facility at a specific location. The standard franchise agreement does not provide for a protected area. Franchisees may face competition from other chain entities, other hotels operating under the Wyndham trade name, franchisees of the franchisor`s affiliates, outlets owned or operated by an affiliate of the franchisor, or other competing distribution channels or brands controlled by an affiliate of the franchisor. However, if commercial circumstances warrant, we may, in our sole discretion, agree on a certain level of territorial protection after taking into account various relevant factors.
If the franchisor accepts territorial protection, it will not open or grant anyone the possibility of opening a system hotel in a defined area for a specified period of time. Territorial protection would not include protection against (i) the establishment of hotels, timeshares, holiday or resort properties or other accommodation facilities under other brands owned, managed or franchised by the franchisor or its affiliates, or (ii) the conversion of another hotel into a chain establishment following an acquisition. Training Overview: The franchisor`s Hotel Operations Training Team offers a variety of mandatory and optional training programs, workshops, online training, and other training resources. Required participants must satisfactorily complete all components (including all pre-course activities or related diagnostic assessments). All employees employed at the hotel in positions designated by the franchisor for training must successfully participate in and complete the initial training program and other training programs that the franchisor requires. The franchisor will train the general manager in its hotel management program. This training will last approximately five days. If it is a new or renovated hotel, franchisees must undergo opening training. This training is provided on-site at the facility two weeks before or up to 30 days after the opening date of the facility. All facilities must participate in a franchisor`s customer loyalty program, Wyndham Rewards.
For continuing education, the franchisor offers a complete training program in hospitality. The franchisor requires directors to attend an annual national leadership conference. Some staff employed in the institution may be invited to attend regular meetings held to address issues of general interest to the system. The franchisor may require franchisees, their general manager and/or hotel staff to participate in a guest experience assessment or training if the hotel receives certain ratings during inspections or customer responses. Financial Support: The franchisor may defer payment of the initial franchise fee if it determines that business circumstances warrant it. The postponement is usually for a short period of time, for example 90 days or until the installation is opened as a member of the chain installation, whichever comes first. The franchisor may also offer certain „development incentives“ for new facilities in the construction and conversion chain.
Incentives are based on various factors and are determined at the sole discretion of the franchisor. Unless otherwise stated, the franchisor does not directly or indirectly offer or provide financing agreements to franchisees in the system.
